毕业于桐朋学園大学短期大学部演劇科、日本ナレーション演技研究所。95年以前，谁也不知道宫村是谁，然而由于庵野大神制作了这个叫做EVA的片子，其中的明日香（アスカ）就由宫村出演。从此宫村就出名了！之后，大红大紫的宫村接连在多部作品中出演，并且还拍摄了很多写真集
